Hamilton to Release 'Mixtape'
What comes next for gargantuan Broadway hit Hamilton? Well, according to the tuner's creator and star, Lin-Manuel Miranda, "now we begin planning The Hamilton Mixtape. Remixes & Covers & Inspired bys." No word yet on who will be tapped for the record, but apparently we can expect it to drop on Atlantic early next year; until then, we'll just keep playing the cast album on repeat!
Cynthia Nixon Tapped for The Affair
Some better news for Cynthia Nixon after her recent directing project, Motherstruck, was abruptly and indefinitely postponed off-Broadway. According to Deadline, the Tony winner will guest star on the second season of Showtime’s The Affair. Nixon is set to take on the role of Marilyn Sanders, an honest and thought-provoking couples therapist helping the characters played by Tony nominee Ruth Wilson and Broadway alum Dominic West. The Affair is scheduled to return to TV screens on October 4.
John Doyle Will Replace Brian Kulick at CSC
Tony winner John Doyle (Sweeney Todd, the upcoming The Color Purple) will succeed Brian Kulick as the Artistic Director of off-Broadway’s Classic Stage Company in July 2016, after the current season is complete. Kulick has led the organization for twelve seasons, and is set to direct two of its upcoming productions: Mother Courage and Her Children, starring Tonya Pinkins, and Nathan the Wise, headlined by F. Murray Abraham. Doyle will helm CSC’s final offering of the 2015-16 season, Peer Gynt.
Watch Rumer Willis Perform 'Me and My Baby'
Rumer Willis continued razzle dazzling TV audiences on October 1 with a visit to Live! with Kelly and Michael. This time, Chicago's current Roxie Hart performed the number "Me and My Baby."
